ESPECIALLY a beautiful woman.
You’ll get the predators without giving a signal but any decent guy will wait for a look or a smile before approaching.

But if you’re an ugly or average woman…you don’t get a string of suitors. Men don’t chase you except for random construction workers whistling at you.
I find I have to make a move to let a guy know I’m interested and even then I get rejected. What’s a good strategy for women like me?

No. Never.
Yes, she has to be pleasant and friendly, but she does not have to chase a man or lack standards in what she will tolerate from a man. She cannot be a victim. She needs to have self-respect and stand on her own two feet. She needs to NOT tolerate bullying, indifference, disrespect disparaging and misogynistic behavior. She needs to be respected by the man and she in turn needs to respect the man.
In short - be a nice and pleasant human being to others. Don't string people along. Understand that you are dating to get married and you have to suss out that your goals, values and morals match the other person.
