Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA): Project 2025 has been linked to proposals to narrow the enforcement of the ECOA, a landmark law passed in 1974 that made it illegal for creditors to discriminate based on sex or marital status (among other categories). Prior to this act, women could often not get credit cards or loans without a male co-signer.
Would the companies be okay with losing around 50% of customers? The poor little CEOs might have to take a pay cut.

It continues to surprise me that women are not more upset about the erosion of abortion rights.
Not all women view abortion rights as central to women's rights. If you can read that without getting really upset, let me continue: I believe the main reason femininism is losing its appeal among younger women has to do with abortion and feminism being synonymous. You can believe in, for example, women being able to vote, work, own property, be independent etc while also believing abortion is murder.
It isn't JUST abortion. It is women's healthcare and particularly with at-risk pregnancies. There are plenty of abortions and other procedures that happen because the mothers health or ability to procreate are at risk.

You are playing semantics. That number is alarmingly high either way and the reality is that they are creating a situation where many women who are raped will be forced to give birth.

It's not semantics. The topic is about women who are pregnant as the result of a rape getting an abortion. Not all "sexual contact" has the possibility of pregnancy.

I've heard multiple talk about how women shouldn't vote and then they immediately follow it up with explaining that they think a lot of people shouldn't vote. To be very clear, these are far right wing. But names you would recognize.

But the reality is that they are not separate in the current environment. Many of the people in these influential organizations that want to ban abortion also want to want to eliminate women’s right to vote and push them out of the work force. Look at the influential people even women who work at the Heritage foundation like Emma Waters. She wants to ban abortion and IVF, ban gay people from having children, says that daycares are bad for society because mothers should mostly be taking care of their kids. If you read between the lines here language is really not different from the men in the 1950s that thought that women should not be in the workforce and should just be housewives.

100% pp that is “just asking questions” is disingenuous
+1 the Hyde amendment was never about taxpayer funding for abortions. There are plenty of other things that the government does which people find objectionable, but we don’t opt out of funding those because some people disagree with it. Eg. People can’t opt out of paying taxes because they are against the military. The Hyde amendment has always been a tool to restrict access to medical care and ban/restrict access to abortions.
