I originally thought that this relationship would last.

I mean Pete was now 32 and I assumed he had sowed his last wild oat and finally found himself a good woman - one he could build a family as well as a future with.

However on the flip side, I did think his GF getting pregnant after only a couple mos. of dating was a tad too fast.

Pete seems like he is just unable to stay w/ONE person longer than a yr!?
Whether it is due to his mental issues, Father issues or simply because he knows that he can have any girl he wants.

The split is getting ugly though.
It appears Elsie is home all the time, caring for her infant alone while Pete is traveling all over, Vegas, LA, NY, etc.
Plus he recently sold the home the two shared.

I thought Pete would be an involved, hands-on Daddy but I haven’t seen a recent photo of him and his daughter.

And now Elsie is claiming it is tough being a single mom >>
And that she has to work to support her new baby.
I never would have thought that Pete would put his career before his kid.
I always thought that Pete would of made a great Dad.

She will shake him down and use him for a meal ticket. He’s looking at a fight that will end in paying her off to go away. Doubtful he will play a meaningful role in his kid’s life.

Yes it is. It’s pathetic in this day and age to get pregnant that early on in a relationship before you really know someone. Birth control is pretty reliable if it’s used. Now this poor child has to grow up in a single parent home. It is sad and pathetic. Two adults who basically made a mistake and now that child has to pay for it for the rest of her life.

I doubt he's got it in him to ever "settle down" with one person.

He's just not hard-wired that way from early on. He grew up within a culture of major trauma. Either you overcome it and crave stability, or you stay bound to the whims of your personal tragedies for the rest of your life, which also probably doesn't last as long as some of your peers.

It's something like Matthew Perry said in his memoir, 'while my death might shock people, it will not surprise them" (approximately)

Yeah it sucks but at least they gave it a shot. Hopefully it didnt end badly
