You should definitely make sure your kids don’t apply there. Especially for fall 2027. I hear school spirit will be especially low then.

My husband is an alum. Gives nothing and felt like it was a transactional relationship, not a home.

Same with me.

Same with me. I did obtain value in the contractual relationship though.

Georgetown will never be confused with ND. ND endowment $20 billion, Georgetown approaching $4 billion. Maybe school spirit pays dividends.

Not OP.

Because it raises a point that needs to be addressed.

It’s a total myth that school spirit has to involve sports.

Northwestern University had relatively low turnout for home football games. To address the issue, the University tore down the 47,000 seat on-campus stadium and built a smaller capacity, enhanced experience stadium with a capacity of 35,000 in its place. Incredible structure which assures great sight-lines from every seat, comfortable padded and sheltered seats for all, and clear game views from all concession areas. Designed to create a more intimate and comfortable experience. Will also be used for other events such a as concerts and graduation ceremonies. Will open by Fall, 2026.

If Georgetown students like to be involved in political matters, then maybe the school should allow game attendees to vote on an issue or issues when entering each event. Clearly, something needs to be done at Georgetown to enhance the in-person experience at games.

I've been to Georgetown football games and basketball games and the article is overblown. Georgetown school spirit is higher than Michigan, which has a medium tier school spirit scene, the Michigan bars in DC are always empty
