Agreed. I think they are hoping the option numbers give the a better idea about who wants to move and they can use that as cover to move some schools over others.

Problem with that is:
1. These are kids who are starting or continuing in high school now--not in a year or so.
2. Kids who want sports are not likely to opt in. And, they have been pretty vague about that issue.
3. Sophomore happy where they are would be less likely to switch.

Then again, nothing has been provided clearly.

We have four zoning options, programming options, and really not much else.

Have to imagine the two extra buildings will be used for whatever academy/pathway program they decide to have.

I remember him saying that one would serve as office space and another as like a preschool building if not both would be office space or a multi-facility preschool.

That was 6 months ago, but he did mention those two buildings as being separate from the main school facility.

Because there is enough space for 500 9th graders and 500 10th graders.

I’ll be surprised if they get 500 Sophomores, they might get close to 500 Freshmen. The way they are doing the opting in requires going to a different website, logging in using your SIS info, and opting in. This could decrease the number of people opting in because it is not intuitive. I am a bit surprised they are not just having kids bring a form from home as an option for opting in.
