Of course it’s possible. It’s not necessarily recommended, however, to have the best shot. Agree with a pp, take a look at the schools and what they list as required/recommended classes.

Pull out 5 colleges your child is looking to apply to and check to see if any "require" 4 years of history.

Can your kid add an extra class and take everything? Try it and if it's too much they can drop one class.
