Have you looked at the Siena School? It doesn’t need to be for forever but you’re at a vital age for reading intervention.

I think if there are very specific challenges you will need private help. If it’s painful to pay for a private and also tutoring, that could be a reason to switch to public

I hate to give a disappointing answer, but I don’t think we can generally say that certain schools have more robust supports. If you move into MCPS, you will need to set up a meeting to get an IEP set up. It’s generally a process. Y some years, you might get lucky with a teacher who has strategies that work for your kid, and other years you won’t. But, in public school, you’ll have the tuition money to spend on tutoring, if needed.

Another option might be a private school with a profile of kids with dyslexia/dyscalcula.

Absolutely - we can certainly get math assessed. The challenge is getting the support that will continue to be needed for reading and any that is needed for math. In the end, the current school is likely not the right fit.
