I think adults exchanging gifts is silly. Its a burden for people like me who dont want to participate. With that said, I would rather receive gift cards than physical gifts because it allows me to shop at specific stores or go to restaurants I would otherwise not do because im always tight on cash.

I really don’t like receiving gift cards - electronic or physical card. Emailed ones I completely forget about. Physical card I lose/misplace/forget to use. -Signed a busy working mom with two kids

That’s true of all gifts. I don’t need a VV sweater from my SIL. I can buy one if I want to. Giving gifts to other UMC people is dumb.

I don’t want to exchange gifts with anyone other than my husband and children. Anyone else in the extended family that insists on doing this is getting a gift card. I’m so over gift giving - it’s dumb. We can all afford what we want.

Absolutely not. I really hate them but I still say thank you anyway to the gifter. They're annoying to deal with. You have to track how much you spend on them and many eventually expire. If you're thinking of giving a gift card, then just give cold hard cash.

They don't expire in California.

Nope. I hate gift cards. I prefer no gift at all.

I love them! I don’t usually splurge on lunch out or coffee on the way to work. Would love gcs for local lunch places, Starbucks, Dunkin. Also i would love a Barnes and noble gc.

I love gift cards. Whats the harm? Stick it in your wallet and get a surprise discount when you go to shop.

Federal law now requires gift cards to last for at least five years (not the VISA type, which have their own expiration dates and are annoying to try to use). If you can’t find a way to use it within 60 months, I don’t know what to say.

No. I don’t really like getting gifts. Consumables can be ok (chocolates, champagne, something like that). But I really don’t need anything.

I handed cleaners big tip, cash. No card. Said happy holiday! They don’t need to throw away joy health wealth wishes card.

I like Amazon and TJ cards because I shop there and can easily use them.
