I feel like you're not really married if you are sleeping in different rooms every night.

We’ve been married 30 years and have had separate rooms for about a decade, maybe longer. It started with my husband’s horrific snoring. Now that he uses a CPAP, he’s welcome to move back whenever he wants, but I think he likes the luxury of having an entire double bed to himself (plus, I move around a lot in my sleep).
It distresses my MIL because she worries about the state of our marriage, but it’s really made things better, not worse.

No, but one goes to the guest room when the other is sick. 50.

I prefer separate rooms but it makes DH sad so we don't unless one of us is pretty sick.

We do. My husband snored and even once he got a CPAP it blows air on me and keeps me awake. I'm a light sleeper which doesn't help. It's worked great for us.

Yes, we have slept in separate rooms for about 10 years. I swear to God it saved our marriage! My husband has terrible insomnia and it was making us both miserable. We both sleep much better now and we still have sex twice per week.

Mid-50s and we’ve been doing it for about 5-6 years. I couldn’t take his snoring, night sweats, and muscle spasms. I announced I was going to move to another room and he did it so I didn’t have to. I love having separate rooms. Your kids have separate rooms and their own closets. Mine had their own bathrooms. Why should the only thing we get of our own be a bathroom sink?

Also, he doesn't get to veto. You just move somewhere else and that's that. He doesn't get to dictate how you should sleep.

Yes. We also started when kids were little and I didn't want to go back. DH snores and pulls blanket off me, also promised to do sleep study 15 years ago... Now that I have the bed to myself, our cat has made himself comfortable there. DH is jealous

Yes. My boyfriend kicks and bounces all night. I'd be black and blue if we slept together.

My mom got her own room when she turned 60 and she loves it. My dad is hooked up to a CPAP and dialysis machine evry night so let's face it, nothing was happening anyway.

Been doing it for at least 5 years, likely more. My husband flops around like a fish and snores. I couldn’t take it anymore. Married 20 years. It’s made life significantly better.

Yes, for about 8 years now. Very happily married and it's been nearly 30 years. Sleep deprivation is not good for anyone's health.
