You have to go out of your way to do that.

No shame

Only residential unit in an old fire station in the heart of town. Big ceilings + windows with thick walls (quiet), right in the heart of the main strip.

Love: Location, size of the lot, solid brick construction, perfect layout, curb appeal.
There are only 2 (full) baths though. A third one would be ideal, even a powder room. The house is also all-electric. I wish we had gas for heat. We switched from oil to a heat pump and the winter utility bills are high.

I love everything about my home, neighbors and location to our work. The only thing I hate is that it's now a failing school and I didn't realize how bad that would be for my kids. It was a good school when we moved in before we got pregnant.

Attic gable windows overlook neighbors skylight in their shower. I've been watching the lady next door shower for a couple years now.

Pros: It's bright and airy yet cozy, great floor plan and just the right size (2400 sqft) and amount of space, storage, bedrooms.

Cons: It's a cookie cutter 90s suburbs home like in the old Lifetime movies, and we won't ever update it (not really worth it).

Downside: It smells "lived in". Not a bad smell... it's the smell if a lot of normal sized, middle class family homes. Hopefully y'all know what I'm talking about.

I like the lived in smell (not a stink or uncleanly). It's homey.

Sunny and warm

Lack of storage

It's a beautiful, historic home.

Which means little to no storage. I would love a full mud room/laundry room (not laundry closet), and an office that doesn't double as a bedroom.

Pros: location and I think the inside is well decorated.

Cons: it’s old and tiny.

Waiting for our kids to be out of the house in a few years and then we’re either going to move or tear down.

Tie: mudroom that goes along two walls and holds or washer and dryer, spa-style main bath with heated floors

Ceiling in main room is 18 ft tall at the top. We have to hire people to change lights.
