My ex married someone less attractive, but they are a perfect match and both are nice.
I married someone more attractive and much more successful. We are very happy.
Looks aren’t everything though.

My mom married someone less attractive and less accomplished who is kinder and more doting. My dad married someone equally attractive but who is much more into beauty upkeep stuff (gets her hair and nails done, more fashionable, wears makeup often vs my mom who I’m not even sure own makeup and is not interested in these things)

Both are happy. I think my mom really wanted more attention and affection and, though my dad would never say it, he cares more about outside appearances and having a specific “look” as a couple. Plus, step mom is fun and upbeat and enjoys creating and maintaining a social life for them.

My ex H would probably say that I ended up with someone less attractive but hes smarter, infinitely more emotionally intelligent, adventurous, kind, safe, stable, best sex I've ever had, funny, and makes over 40x what my ex did. And I am happy as a f---ing clam.

Maybe he’s kinder than you. Maybe he has more money than you. Maybe he’s more emotionally intelligent than you. Maybe he’s better in bed than you.

But it sounds like you have more hair and fewer wrinkles. So congrats, I guess.

Betrayal trauma and the discard for pure limerence creates severe PTSD and lack of trust and belief in anything for the abandoned spouse. And it often happens to the most giving, loving people who don't deserve it at all.

Didn’t get severe ptsd but I feel like I can’t ever trust anyone again, and I feel like I will be betrayed again.

OP, is he a musician, artist, or dancer? Women will fall for these guys regardless of age.

And with women if you have the right words they will fall for you just like that. I am not saying women don't care about look. They do. But they are more likely to compromise on look if you are crazy about them and make them feel like the most important woman in the world

This is such a selfish act. It could have affected your son's game.

What's the etiquette when it comes to bringing new partners to activities like this? If I were dating a divorced person I will not attend their child game if their other parent will be in attendance unless I was engaged to them. But as a boyfriend no way.

When did the separation happened, PP? It is going to take some time but you will do much better mentally.

I get it. Mine didn't even wait for the divorce. Super classy. It gets better, but it takes time.

I think she's about the same level of attractiveness, but she's a lot younger. Oh well. At least she's nice to my kids.

My unfaithful ex husband is very charming and charismatic. He is not necessarily attractive, but he knows how to captivate a woman's attention and keep it going. He has been remarried for 5 years and his new wife is 20 years younger than me and him. And my ex is broke. Looks aren't everything.

Regardless of divorce, I have seen far more attractive women with very unattractive men. And in some cases it's frankly shocking the disparity in looks.
