Deferred for a Business school application as well, and also applied to Honors College.

The number of applications I've seen for these large flagships are astonishing....I thought we might see a bit of an advantage with the "slightly smaller" pool of applicants this year (vs last year) but that is surely not playing out at our house. Our kid is comfortably within the published stats.

DS is accepted, applied as intended psych major. He was glum about being deferred to UGA last week so was nice to get another admit. 4.6 wgpa, SAT under 1400, some very strong ECs.

65,000 apps = deferrals for everyone. Don’t expect these flagships to be easy admits anymore.

DS accepted.

4.05 with lots of rigor, many B grades unfortunately. 1370 SAT. Excellent ECs. Deferred

DC deferred as well, with an older sibling who attends. Did not apply to business though.

Could you share stats? My son did not apply but applied to business at other schools in the same range as South Carolina.

DC is in with at least 100k over 4yrs.

They press everyone to apply to honors.

DD was accepted w/guaranteed minimum scholarship over 4 years (assuming gpa is met yearly)

DS also deferred a bit of a surprise since they did a hard press to get him to apply for honors college. But oh well

DS got in but no merit. does that come later?

My DC was also deferred. Evidently very common.
