They were not particularly inexpensive but they came with plastic shelf pegs that don't hold any weight. We're trying to find metal replacements. I'm a little worried that once we do, they'll strip out of th e peg holes or something.

Kraft maid is not cheap.

We've had our Kraftmaid for maybe 14 years and still happy with them.

My designer uses Shiloh for people who want semi-custom. No upcharge for inset.

Too deep in my book. I dont know why they did that. Used to be 12".

We used Century 21 and they are fine. They don’t have a lot of style and color options but they’re dovetail and slow close. The price was right.

I decided I didn’t want to keep waiting for “someday” when I could afford the custom cabinets I really wanted.

I don't really see the point of finding the cabinet line before hiring a contractor. Contractors will know much more than you do and may well have preferences for certain lines. Every contractor I interviewed had 1-3 lines they were willing to work with. Why does your architect want you to do this?

We just spent a TON of money on a very expensive cabinet line. We ended up having to buy some additional cabinets “on the cheap” because our budget ran out and so we figured we’d compromise. (Cheap is in quotes because nothing is cheap). We stumbled on Brighton at Cabinet Discounters and installed them in the same kitchen as the expensive line. The construction is not exactly the same but in terms of look and feel they are almost identical. If we’d found Brighton sooner we may have saved ourselves a lot of money.
