It would be a dealbreaker for me because it would make me feel insecure in our overall relationship.

Because I would be afraid of angering him and thus might keep some of my feelings inside rather than discussing them w/him out of fear that I would lose him.

Oh man, that posted too quickly.

I would want to know what the two fights were about before answering. It sounds like it might’ve been something really big that took him some time to work out.

However, Weeks of being on eggshells is not the way to go either I would say probably a dealbreaker, but context is definitely needed

And btw, it doesn't matter who is wrong, how you handle conflict is a very important skill. Him being single with no kids at 40 likely means he hasn't learn these very basic things and no one else wants him.

Even if he is dealing with extended family and work things now, things will only get more complicated with marriage (and potentially kids). Work and extended family things don’t decrease (they go waves).

Move on. He’s not emotionally mature enough for a relationship.
