Samsonite, TravelPro or Away from Marshall’s/TJ Maxx.

I've used my Travelpro for 20 years and it's still as good as the day I bought it.

Wow. Starting around $800 for carryon! I’d rather spend $80 for TJMaxx carryon that lasts 10+ years. If it gets damaged or stolen, I rinse and repeat. But that’s me.

I’d also consider Costco for a set.

Costco does usually have good deals on Samsonite sets. If this is a gift, think about packing cubes or toiletry sets too

Yes on Samsonite (we have multiple, both hard shell and soft, and have been pretty pleased with the quality). Hard no on packing cubes and toiletry sets unless you know exactly what they’d like - that stuff seems pretty personal.

Rimowa will outlive you. My carry on roller made by them is 20 some years old.

I've been admiring the Carl Friedrik luggage I've seen but don't have any, yet.
