My entire childhood my very South American grandmother gave my also South American father, her son-in-law, new pajamas for Christmas every year. It was their thing.

You’re pretty awesome. I love this. If my kid was younger and had a less fraught relationship with her father, I would absolutely steal this idea.

As to the original question, I give pajamas to my kid every year. Not Christmas ones, just nice pajamas. I also buy myself a pair and wrap them.

Pjs are the only clothing I like as gifts. Who doesn’t like Eberjey PJs? They’re too expensive for me to buy for myself, so I appreciate them as gifts.

Pjs last for a long time for an adult. I rarely need new ones

It's always good to have a nice set of PJs for travel or if the kids have PJ day at school. So not weird. If you know someones size or preferences, not weird.

I'm very picky so I choose my own. It's easy to choose for one kid. The other is very picky. DH doesn't wear PJs.

I have bought many a set for my elderly mother as well.

Aren’t we talking about people who live in your house? How would you not know if they wear pajama?

I think pajamas are an odd gift for someone you don’t live with or sleep with. I know my teens wear pajamas because they walk around the house in them. I also know they are happy to wear penguins in Santa hats on their legs in July. So, since they wear out and outgrow pjs and I would need to replace them, why not do it at Christmas so the photos look good?
