Sorry for the third post. I see he doesn’t want to see her and she wants him to. My son didn’t want to either. But they have to. It’s good practice for college. The kids really need to take the lead. I sat with my son and proofread his emails for correspondence as he complained. For his teacher, the feedback was mostly done online instead of office hours.

It sounds like she already said your kid needs to go for help in person. There’s your answer he needs to go. Tell him it’s just as much about building those relationships as it is about getting the help.

And I’d have your son reach out and meet with the teacher to see what he can do, not you. You can help him compose emails but have him make the contact.

No advice other to say I’m sorry. 11th grade English at his private was hell for my son and worse than college courses DH and I took. He got through it but it was a struggle the entire year. Do what you can and keep plugging away. Have him keep talking to the teacher. For mine, it was the writing and the details.

If it’s any hope, 12th at his school is nothing like that and much easier. We don’t know if it’s the course or if he has an easier teacher.
