Even if you have global entry?
I have global entry -- one time I used the mobile app in June returning and it was super fast. The last time I returned (early November this year) they were testing a new system that was insanely fast and wild. I walked up, they had a camera, I did not even have to stop, the CBP officer at a lectern said my name, and then said go ahead go through, welcome home. This is all from facial recognition....so I guess great?

GE is fast. Sometimes there might be 5 or 6 people in line and no one at MPC so it might occasionally be faster.
The issue with MPC as a frequent traveler is that it is not at many airports. It is not that useful anywhere else. Plus it open to everyone and does not require any process which decreases the potential number of people using it.
I always have GE but had to use MPC when I traveled with my elderly parents. We travel internationally a few times a year and think most I waited at GE was 5 minutes.
