However my daughter is now claiming that she has the "gift of prophecy", insisting that her dreams tell the future. For instance, when I dropped a jug of milk yesterday, she smiled and said that she "had a dream about this." I don't know if she's joking or not and it's worrying me. Thanks.

At least in our strain of Irish Catholicism, it’s considered really risky to tempt spirits that might be caught between worlds — like nothing good can come of that because if they were good spirits they’d be in heaven or doing their time in purgatory, so definitely you’re only going to hear from the really bad sorts. I don’t know what I think about that, but I think it’s at least something to consider, if you believe in spirits at all. It gave me enough pause that I started passing on that stuff at parties. If there are bad spirit, I really don’t want to be drawing their attention. Big no thank you on that. I’ve seen poltergeist.
Tarot has absolutely nothing to do with channeling spirits the way ouija board does.
