The new Assistant HOS for curriculum is fantastic. I hope SR does whatever it takes to keep her around for a long time.

This is good to know. My daughter isn’t big on sports so it’s good to know she can find her tribe. Can you provide insight about the learning support?

They offered comparable accommodations to what DD had coming from public school. But the value add was the teachers bringing her in for study hall on specific days for 1:1 help in a subject where she may be struggling. The learning support specialists are also available to help students during study halls.

I don’t believe you’re a current SR family. This hasn’t been our experience at all.

Would you be willing to provide some context since that hasn’t been our experience. It would be good to know if we need to keep an eye out for certain situations.

How so?

? She's great. Give her a little time, gee. I prefer leaders who take a little time to get to know a place to the game changer types who push through lots of stuff right away with unintended consequences. She clearly values this age group, is a wonderful listener and sets an awesome, encouraging tone. I see a fruitful path.

They offer the same Tier 1 accommodations as any other mainstream private school. Beyond that you should look at McLean, Lab, etc based on your child’s needs.

There’s been so many changes in faculty and staff over the years but I’m hoping things are going to be steady. The new MS head seems different from the previous one and that can be a good thing. They have a new assistant head that is well known in NY private school world for Science/STEM programming so she’s a great asset to elevate the current offerings.

+1 I’m happy with the recent hires. With the number of new MS Principals over the past few years, I hope this one stays for a while. US head is a gem and really cares about the girls. He seems to be the only constant in the admin team. Also happy about the Assistant Head so far. She was at Rye in New York and if you look at the number of STEM graduates and the their college acceptances, you’d be floored. The Science Research program she started got an ISEF finalist too. Good all around for the future of SR

How can one admin be responsible for all those successes you claim? Come back and tell us about how hard it is for those STEM grads to find jobs. Or look at the current data that shows more people with non-stem degrees get jobs in stem than folks who majored in stem.

BTW don't confuse tenure with character. Your comments are very gendered. Several women move up to higher positions at other schools and you talk negatively about them compared to a man that stays put.
