Speak to the principal but my understanding is if the Dad has full educational rights you should po uld 100% NOT be restricting information based on custody days. As pointed out above it's not reasonable for you to know but also both parents have the full right to all educational information.

Wow that's wild and makes me grateful for the peaceful coparenting situation I have with my ex lol. I can't imagine being upset at a teacher communicating information to both parents.

I would just do what your admin tells you to do, but it seems crazy to expect you to track who has custody on what days. I would not expect that as a parent.

They could, but that’s essentially what BCC is. The father mentioned the missing coat to the mother in the app. It wouldn’t have mattered if it was a seperate email. The mother doesn’t the father to be contacted at all if it is “her day” which is bananas.

This wouldn't keep the mother from being nasty. It could be done, but the people who say copy the school counselor and/or social worker and admin on the emails are right. Leave that paper trail.

Not your problem. You did the right thing and I would continue to do just that. Always BCC of course- since they may want their email address private (may have changed them due to contentious divorce behavior).

Teachers need to get clearly documented instructions (email is sufficient) from their principal on how to handle, and then follow those. If they do anything else, their principal or other management might not protect the teacher from the parents.



Protect the teacher from what? What’s the mom going to do, right admin a email? Big deal. Go for it.

This seems ridiculous of the mother. No wonder they are getting divorced and can only communicate via an app.

As a parent, I usually email or text both parents for sports, play dates, parties, etc. I don’t know everyone’s schedules.
