You obviously don’t know how small catholic middle schools and high schools are. The kids and the parents have known each other since Kindergarten. Including the kids that were advanced reading in 1st grade, the ones that were advanced math in 3rd grade, completing algebra in 8th vs completing geometry in 8th. We’ve known the kids for literally 15 years but yeah I can see why you would call it stalking from your massive public.

Freshman son is happy at Nova- he went in knowing what he was getting: no big rah rah- has enjoyed supporting all the fall sports, plays club sport, involved with special Olympics, done day trips on weekends. First choice was ND with legacy there and didn’t get in but came with group of Nova kids to support football at ND one weekend. He’s liking the student vibe at Nova more than he thought.

I didn’t say they could get into Gtwon or ND. I’m saying the kid who go to BC happily go ED to BC because it’s desirable. Whereas the Villanova kid is not as likely to regard Villanova the same way - they are probably also looking at UMiami Tulane etc. I know a lot of kids who have or had BC as their top choice from middle school.

Similar profile students. But I think BC kids WANT to be at BC and it shows in the campus vibe. I think Nova kids wanted to get into BC (or Georgetown) and didn’t and it also shows in the campus vibe.

Everyone we know who goes there absolutely loves it. The kids seem like happy people who succeed at life.

No dog in this race, just my observations.

Don't listen to the "Villa no fun" rumors!

Nova and BC are new kids to Catholic school hierarchy add in Santa Clara on West Coast. Both BC and Villanova benefit from city location but still do not have the old money feel of a Holy Cross or a Georgetown. And Nova is not Jesuit which isn’t a plus among Jesuit private high schools.

^+1 lot less Villanova appeal in our full pay town think their attraction is heavily tied to basketball success and took a dive when their Coach retired.

Neighbor sent two kids there (second one there now.) I have to assume they like it or the second one wouldn’t have gone. Both sporty boys.

Family friend is a freshman there now. The son decided to rush freshman year which has proved very time consuming and expensive. Apparently the frat houses are like 20 minutes off campus which is a big downside. Academics have been good but harder than the student expected.
