No, not me. Now that my kids are older I’m eager to explore places, have a social life again, and get out and about. Nothing sounds more dull than watching tv with my husband. It feels so old and tired to me! I’m in my mid-50s and want to get back to having fun.

Just me?

Hey PP, I am feeling the same at the age of 43 and can't figure out what it is. Changed dose of my SSRIs and some hormones but nothing is helping. Is it perimenopause or something else? Issue is that my BF is an extrovert and lit up room wherever he goes. He wants to go out atleast once a week and treat me really nice too but I don't feel like. I also feel bad because he would dress really nice and I don't have the desire to. Is it normal for someone of my age? what is going on?

This is me too. I fell out of contact/the new friends I had moved. I wish I had a phone friend to chat with once a week or every other week.

40s, right there with you. Always wished bars/clubs were open at 10 am for the record (more a morning person) but child early wake ups/life make me tired 7ish these days.

Like, to parties, or to dinner with your family?

The former: yep. I'm 43.

The later? Not a problem for me.

Same. I used to go out 2-3 nights per week. There’s just no way now. I have to psych myself up for a concert for my favorite bands now.

I read about a group of older women who organize dance parties at 6 PM in DC and that sounded freaking brilliant.

I googled… they’re called Early Birds.

I’m 53 and feel the same, OP. Especially at this time of year when it’s dark at 5pm. I am forcing myself to go out on weeknights after work when invited but I would much rather be comfortable at home.

Same, a friend regularly tries proposing weeknight dinner meet ups and it ends up getting scheduled as weekend brunch because we’re in our 50s, still get up super early and are happier at home in the evenings

In another life, I used to go out at 11 PM.
