That’s a great idea because you may end up wanting a second opinion. Good luck.

Don't know how she is with kids, but she's a great doctor.

We got a cancellation appt with her on Monday. Thanks for the rec!

We saw and liked Dr. Glaser, many years ago.

I also second the Wilner recommendation. Never personally been there, but they are world-renowned and also a teaching institution. A lot of the top ophthalmologist’s have done fellowship there.

+1 to the first part.

I would ask your pediatrician and/or the optometrist who did the eval to see if they would call the ophtho and ask for a favor to see your son or get him seen sooner. Sometimes this helps.

My DD had what ended up being a very serious neurological disease and my pediatrician was a total jerk about it, very dismissive. Dr. Wei helped me when it should have 100% been the pediatrician. Love her forever for this. She was also recommended to me by friend who was very happy with her.

Thanks for the rec! I just called and first available appt is June but they added me to the cancellation list.

We drive 45 minutes to see Dr. Wei (we used to live closer!).

Lisa Wei in Arlington, she's amazing.

Marcia Hutcheon is really good. She has handled complex pediatric cases. She has been in practice a long time because I’m 42 and I saw her as a kid. Actually she performed several complex eye surgeries on my sister.

I hope you get in with someone soon and I hope everything is OK.

We’re in NoVa and have been seeing Dr Forest Ellis for 12+ years. I’d see anyone in that practice. Honestly, though, it’s hard to get into all peds ophthalmologists. I’d have your pediatrician help you get seen.

I saw Marcia Hutcheon in Rockville for strabismus - pediatric ophthalmologists treat adult strabismus. She was very thorough and thoughtful, and left me with a much better outcome than my previous ophthalmologist had.

OP

This is very concerning! Please do not wait.

Have you tried Hopkins? INOVA?
Can your pediatrician help get you in somewhere?

How old is your child?
Can he see a non pediatric doc at Eye Doctors of Washington?

My child saw Vicente. I am sorry I don’t have any other recs.
