But having watched how badly my black and brown brothers and sisters in arms are treated as civilians, I know I was born with an advantage just by being white.

I’ve moved over 20 times which can be exciting but very stressful and has taken a toll on my ability to make or retain friendships.

My mother died
My favorite pet that I have ever had had to be put to sleep the year after
My child completed suicide less than 3 months ago.
I have not overcome the last one and have had the darkest days I’ve ever had in my life.
My father is not doing well and I expect him to pass within the next year or so.
