Last year, Emory released on Dec 11. If they are consistent year to year for day of the week - and I have not checked - then Emory will probably release on Dec 10.

Good luck everyone!

I had one who got into 1st choice college ED this time of year. He cried he was so happy.

My next one didn't get into BC nursing but did go to a neighboring state U with a 20% tuition break over BC and now they are a BSN/RN with a regional hospital. They actually loves/like their job and now I realize they could have gone anywhere for it.

Back when my kids played sports one special kid went to BC and I think he literally just works in his dad's car dealership.

My kid got an email from NYU today letting them know that ED for all NYU campuses will now come out on 12/11 in the “late afternoon” ET. Was previously posted as 12/15.

So I’m excited for my kid and happy decision is coming out earlier than expected.

Interesting that these ED’s are moving up a bit…

DP. Again, to clarify, they are not moving up release dates. Every year, colleges post to expect a decision in mid Dec or by (not "on", but "BY") Dec 15 or similar. That is the latest date they hope to release by. Typically they release on the same day of the week, around the same date/week, prior to that date.

So in this example, last year NYU released ED1 on Thursday 12/12/25. This year, NYU is releasing on Thursday 12/11, same day of the week.

And, if true, this would be the second school I have heard of to notify much earlier than usual. (Villanova is other). Anyone have any inside info on rationale?

Tulane informed early.

My assumption - schools are using automation (like populating content quicker) so that readers can read quicker accelerating the decision making process.

What does ‘populating content quicker’ mean?

every school has a formula for how they create a GPA to normalize the students who come from schools with many different grading systems. When your child sends the transcript - they need to do work. If the school is able to do this quicker through automation - it speeds the process along so that resources are utilized for more nuanced work.

Yes, our CCO confirmed they are using AI to filter. And they've hired less readers this year. I suspect the essays won't matter all that much.
