1) they're out of season here
2) the route of importing them, through Mexico, is blockaded
3) Oxnard, CA (where we grow most of our own) got sacked by Trump's immigration goons, so what we're growing here may/may not be getting picked
4) you don't want to pay the actual cost of strawberries in late November

Of course they are out of season in the US. Berries ripe now are coming mostly from South America where it is spring.

Yup, very true - it's also a giant holiday in case you didn't notice those limited supply might have been purchased.


The poors should not be allowed to purchase fresh fruit if it is going to cause a shortage.
