+1. You can't have fresh produce in winter without trade and truckers.

1) they're out of season here
2) the route of importing them, through Mexico, is blockaded
3) Oxnard, CA (where we grow most of our own) got sacked by Trump's immigration goons, so what we're growing here may/may not be getting picked
4) you don't want to pay the actual cost of strawberries in late November

Agree, OP. Got plenty last week but haven’t been able to find them so far near me the last 4 or so days.

Of course they are out of season in the US. Berries ripe now are coming mostly from South America where it is spring.

Eat something with apples.

I know they’re out of season but we got some great ones at Costco last week!

Yup, very true - it's also a giant holiday in case you didn't notice those limited supply might have been purchased.

The poors should not be allowed to purchase fresh fruit if it is going to cause a shortage.
