why would it reduce drama? You weight could still have a weird spike if you only weigh yourself every 2 weeks. Where if you weigh daily and see that fluctuations are normal, you take out the emotions and avoid the " I need to starve myself because I gained 4llbs overnight" mentality.

My weight loss doctor told me I should weigh myself every two weeks to avoid drama like this in my life.

Weigh yourself again in a few hours or tomorrow.

Why would you weigh yourself more than once a day. It’s clearly not going to be accurate after you’ve eaten. You should weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you’ve had any food or drink and after you’ve used the bathroom.

What is considered a normal amount of weight fluctuation? Since I lost 30 lbs, I’ve seen my weight jump around up/down by a few lbs every week. One week I saw it go up by 4 lbs and it was honestly terrifying because I worked so hard to lose the weight and I hadn’t really deviated from my eating and exercise plan. I feel like I’m living in fear of food/the scale and I’m curious what others have found to be their weight pattern.

That makes sense because when you make changes that rev up your metabolism, your body temporarily retains extra water.

That's water and poop and inflammation. It's very unlikely you ate an extra 14,000 calories that week.

semi O/T but my very new and reliable scale this morning did something kind of weird? i stepped on it right after i got out of bed, saw the new low number and was so excited, then went to use the bathroom, and jumped back on it expecting to see even lower number - but it showed 7 ounces heavier!!! i literally did nothing else in between except a nice bm so how can this be? am i one of those who gain weight from breathing?!

Water weight. Your lowest weight could have also been inaccurate. I've lost and kept off 100 pounds and when I was weighing myself every other day, I'd easily see fluctuations of 2 pounds between weigh ins.

I typically weigh myself on shot day which is only a snapshot of one day...but damn, it is frustrating.

weigh yourself daily and track the trend over time. they day to day fluctuations are normal and just noise. The trend over time/a month is what really matters.
