On a small campus and with a small student body this is really limiting.
I believe on a less progressive campus, the accusation would have never moved forward.
This never crossed my mind as we were going through the process of figuring out the right school - but want others to have visibility for consideration
Your kid is an assaulter, and you can’t get over mommy guilt.

This is applicable to most LACs but besides Economics, other majors dont seem to have any direct path to employment/career - but rather Grad School or Law.
Is that a fair assessment. DC would love to go to Pomona but is not sure what will come out of career outcomes - so is hesitating to apply.

Im so glad to hear that! DD is applying now, and we’re eager to hear more.
What does your DS love most? Any specifics you can share about his first few months there? What is he planning to study?

There’s no shortage of hard work, but Pomona students welcome that rather than shirk it and really do have a collaborative vs competitive approach. That’s not just lip service but DC’s lived experience.
Admissions seems to select for kids who value collaboration and kindness and who really genuinely have interests — not just application-stuffing activities. It shapes the community.
We are very pleased with where DC has landed, and all the resources readily at students’ disposal.
+1 as the parent of a sophomore. It’s a damned impressive school and the consortium is fantastic. The location is great too. DC seems to make regular trips to LA and other places of interest within a half day drive. DC, who is liberal, has complained about the lack of diverse political thought though.

NP: do
You kind asking your DC what Harvey Mudd kids are like on campus vs. Pomona kids? Are they fully immersed in campus life and socialize and take classes at the other 4Cs or are they’re weird nerds who keep to themselves? Is it known as more cutthroat among the 5Cs? Thanks!
