Lyddy makes no sense as there are no “d”s in Elizabeth.

There's no S or Z either, but Lizzy and Bess are both nicknames for Elizabeth.

😂 😂 😂

I also had a crotchety great aunt Libby but think it’s cute. I like Lizzy better. Most Beth’s are called Liz at least some of the time.

I dislike it. It sounds like a flabby middle-aged lady.
But who cares what I think?!

Yuck - Libby is my crotchety great aunt and my stick-up-her bottom SIL. Sorry, can't get passed those two awful Libbys that I know

It's cute. But I can't help but think of that app (which is not a terrible association).

Lyddy MIGHT be a nickname for Lydia. Definitely not Elizabeth.
I love the nickname Libby. It’s cheerful. My husband’s grandmother was Elizabeth, nickname Libba

I'm an Elizabeth. Don't love it, but don't really like any of the nicknames. My aunt (who is quite a bit older than my dad) goes by Libby, so maybe part of it is I just associate it as an old lady name. Can actually see it being cute for a little girl the more I think about it.

I suspect it's because we all had some negative experience with a mean girl named Beth sometime around 1985. Just me?

Yes but in 2010. The name gives me a shiver up my spine.
