I have two teen boys who like to rotate their older suits for prelims and save their newer ones for finals. It gets hard to keep track of once kids get multiple suits for specific events/distances, so I had them make a spreadsheet. Some suits last a couple of seasons because they are not used very often, and some suits are done after one season. On average, it lasts for 4 big meets. After a suit goes through finals for 4 big meets, it gets relegated for prelims and is used until it frays or loses too much compression or water repellency. If it’s still wearable, it gets handed down to high school swimmers who don’t swim club. If it’s not wearable, we throw it into a box at the pool for kids to try on for sizing help.

Boys tech suits last a lot longer. My boy has had his for two seasons now. They are not as hard to put on and have a lot less material. Just be careful as to wear they sit. Girls suits require curves and a whole lot of body to get on, so they do tend to not last as long.
