Try asking around to your friends or in your neighborhood to see if there is anyone who knows your kid or your family who works in a similar industry and see if they would be willing to hand walk his resume to the person in charge of hiring interns.
That's how college kids get hired.
Thats not true
+1 Their first internship after freshman year was through a friend of theirs; they recommended DC after working with them on a project, and the friend was impressed with DC's work. They also applied for two workshops with a large company; these were unpaid boot camps but it got DC noticed by the person leading the bootcamps at the company. This was also summer after freshman year.
The second internship was at that company DC did the bootcamp in, which they applied for online.
The next internship coming up this summer was found online. They applied to several (like 50?) and got four offers - all at very well known companies, lowest paid $50/hour. They took the highest paid one at $96/hour, which is also the one they hope to work for after graduation.
You have to hustle. Some kids apply to hundreds of internships online and get like one or two interviews. You should also get your resume reviewed, and make sure you prep for interviews.
DC did all of that. Their interviewing skills are much better than mine. LOL
