DC doesn't have a "dream" school but the ED school is one that she will be extremely happy to attend if accepted. She has a realistic chance based on school data but no acceptance is guaranteed for any applicant. I am hoping she gets in and be done with it.

In case there is a rejection or deferral, there are quite a few selective RD schools and several EA targets/safeties. So more opportunities down the road though it means no Christmas break and more work. But emotionally she is okay with either an acceptance or a rejection. Not stressful.

I can't help it, I have already started picturing DC's life at their ED school next year - and I know he has, too. It's really hard not to. Here's hoping it works out for both of us.

Similar story here. ED is a target school, and by the scatterplot for her high school she should get in.

Agree. Plus, they have schoolwork still. I'm not pushing. The Thanksgiving break will be good for them and then, if needed, they'll do the work over Christmas break.

My kid ended up getting into her ED choice a few years ago. I thought she had a 50-50 chance of getting in, so I kept hyping up her other options.

I know a couple high stats, out of state, engineering guys who applied ED to Michigan.

I’m nervous but cautiously optimistic about my child’s ED result. They already have one acceptance that would work and they’re excited about a couple of other EA likelies. They have two more applications completed and ready to go should they need to submit for RD.

Feeling nervous. DC applied ED to Michigan and who knows how many they will take in ED vs. deferral. It seems like a ton of kids applied ED to Michigan.

I kept telling my DD not to have a dream school, even her ED choice, because admission process is cruel/unforgiving and colleges are businesses. She seems to be mentally prepared now to not get too dejected in three weeks if denied/deferred.
