If immediately and just casually dating, maybe they just want to gage if you live nearby and whether they want to try to hook up at your place or theirs.

I'm renting an apartment in the building I love. I don't have to work for money ever again after selling my three properties and putting the money into market in 2020.
I'm renting because there is no condo I want to own. I have never felt safe in a house even with a partner.

My ex was pissed forever that I didn't sell my first property. He failed to tell me that it would bother him if I kept it.

I don't care what you own. That would strike me as a strange and intrusive question without some kind of context where it makes sense.

This is confusing because obviously single homeowners are priced out of the DMV housing market even for the 600k priced housed in my neighborhood only people in threes come to see the homes. So it's unlikely a single can own a home now.

I don't think it is that weird of a follow up question in conversation when you meet someone. Especially if you are 30s and up. Talking about home ownership just comes up in conversation. I don't really remember if I have been asked that or asked others but it wouldn't really stand out for me.

I was asked where my son attends elementary school (we were discussing our kids) and when I mentioned the independent school he attended, my date asked me if we were using financial aid.

1. I'm a full time practicing physician and he knew this. 2. There's obviously no shame in using financial aid if you need it. 3. It was none of his business.

The impression I got was that he couldn't figure out what he had to offer me as I didn't need and wasn't interested in his money, which was sad. But I didn't go out with him again.
