I'm sure some places do hire them, but that doesn't change the fact that if you want to work as an electrical engineer, some places want to see an electrical engineering degree. People should make their decisions accordingly - some places will be fine with it and some will not.


JMU is reporting total placement rate, not placement rate into *engineering jobs*. If one wants to work in engineering, get a specific engineering degree in that specialty. PP is right.


I'm not sure why you are arguing with me. It's pretty clear from my post that I think a specific engineering degree is the safter and better way to go.

Neither JMU or VT has released any decisions yet. Early/mid January for JMU EA and early February for VT EA.

A) Lack of information IF student wants to work in engineering.

B) Student's goal is to work in IB or consulting or some other job where any general STEM background is good enough.

I had assumed that these were the financial aid packages they had received, but as someone else pointed out is the child even admitted? So I'm not sure where or how she pulled these numbers.
