I'm sure some places do hire them, but that doesn't change the fact that if you want to work as an electrical engineer, some places want to see an electrical engineering degree. People should make their decisions accordingly - some places will be fine with it and some will not.
JMU is reporting total placement rate, not placement rate into *engineering jobs*. If one wants to work in engineering, get a specific engineering degree in that specialty. PP is right.
