Scotchgard was reformulated years ago. You can't get the good stuff anymore.

Anyone know the old formula and possibly the new one? Figure old one is at least no longer trade secret?

That's not how trade secrets work. They still might make the old formula under a different name for customers that don't have the same environmental concerns.

So you know nothing about the topic and just linked clickbait articles. Ok.

We had to put a fan on it and keep the cushions off and move for 3 days. The couch looks awful now! They also applied a scotch guard substance and it now feels greasy and definitely has a buildup. I had to wash my hands after touching.
Thanks for any advice- I’ve never had this happen!

This.

And OP, get a new couch. I'm sorry. And a refund. Also, I don't let anyone clean my house or my furniture. Too many bad experiences/stories.

Call immigration if they don’t pay.

We had to put a fan on it and keep the cushions off and move for 3 days. When I started putting the cushions back on I noticed that almost every cushion and parts of the couch itself are fuzzy now due to the excessive rubbing or vacuuming( I guess).
I was able to flip some of the cushions to hide the damage but several have damage in both sides. The couch looks awful now! They also applied a scotch guard substance and it now feels greasy and definitely has a buildup. I had to wash my hands after touching.
My question is this- what can I have them compensate me ? Obviously, I’m asking for a full refund on the cleaning but can I ask for more?
In full disclosure, the couch is older(2016) and my cats were not kind to the bottom of it. You can see numerous loose threads along the front of the couch due to the scratches.
Thanks for any advice- I’ve never had this happen!

It was Vance.

I like that they’re 30 years old because I don’t have to care about them. My old couches went into the basement for my kids to game from and then we had a flood so some guys came and sawed those in half for disposal. Bye to those couches.

Also, in addition to Beanie Babies, my mom once had this idea that she could buy up all the chenille blankets she saw on eBay for like a year and somehow sell them back to the network that produced the show “Homefront” in the 90s … literally she was kind of delusional.

I did however inherit all those blankets which have a really interesting history. But as textiles they aren’t going to last forever and I had like 40 of them.

Now I cover the couches with them and when they start ripping apart I make them into dog blankets. They are like 80 years old and not uncommon. Like quilts.

Either use them or lose them.

Also I let my cats scratch the shit out of these 30 yo couches. I enjoy the cats more.

Ick. Watch out for the brainworms.

Curiously both of these posts are very similar motif-wise.

Both suffered damage from their house cleaners.
