My mom did exactly this. You'll need to be realistic about your expectations, but you can absolutely do this!

I think it’s a great idea. I’m also over 50 and took a huge risk career wise about 2 years ago. It is scary to leave a comfort zone. It’s also disheartening to suddenly be the new person who doesn’t know anything when you used to be a go-to (and you are obviously not young). I’m not even sure yet whether it was objectively a good move. But I’m proud of myself for taking the leap. I’m glad I did it. Even if it doesn’t work out, I’ll know that fear (of leaving boring old comfort zone) did not rule my life.

OP here. Thank you for your replies. I will apply and see if I get accepted, most people applying are working already in that specifuc field and just need the ‘piece of paper’. It is a certificate program on data analysis in a field very specific, I worked in an ‘adjacent firld’ for more than a decade before becoming a SAHM. I am aware AI may take over part of the process but right now there is still room for humans
