What are you insinuating, exactly? Remember, it could be someone they are communicating with who needs the privacy. Their affair partner, for example. (Is that where you were going with this?)

Whatever.

If my wife was "chatting with her gfs" on a self destructing, end-to-end encrypted app known for the inability to be read by others...... yeah, I'd very comfortably assume they are talking about something they really, really, really don't want me to know about.

You’re not entitled to know everything she does, says, and thinks.

I use it to chat with a select few friends -- my husband and two closest friends. Don't remember why we switched from WhatsApp but it does feel less icky.

I'm still on WhatsApp for all the thousands of group chats. But my Signal conversations are my favorites.

Dw here. I’m friends with a professor who works on security issues. My group chat with her and several others is on signal.

You seem confused. We have Signal, Telegram and WhatsApp for group chats on both our phones. It’s a messaging tool.

I’m in a bunch of signal group chats. Much better than sms. Totally non-sketchy.

My friends who are political scientists who do research abroad or work for the government are pretty adamant about texting via signal, so I use it to keep them happy.

I have Signal to communicate with coworkers outside of work. What’s nefarious about this app?

Our local mutual aid group uses signal. It's not that deep.

+1. Almost every advocacy/volunteer/activist groups are using signal now… as are savvy people who are concerned about privacy and the direction everything is going in (as we all should be). Heck, even the school group chats are on Signal now.
