Apricot biscotti (from Mayo Clinic cookbook). It is perfection.

To have with coffee after the TG meal.

Cherry pie is summer/4th of July.

+1

And canned pie filling is not good.

Seven-Layer Cookies:

Spread in 9 x 13 pan:
1. 1 stick melted margarine
2. 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
3. 1 pkg. (12 oz) chocolate chips
4. 1 pkg. (12 oz) butterscotch chips
5. 1 cup coconut
6. 1 cup chopped walnuts
7. 1 can sweetened condensed milk (like Eagle Brand) (14 oz)
Bake at 350 degrees F 25-30 minutes (until top starts to turn golden). Cut into squares. Cool and chill.

I feel like butterscotch and the kind of texture that comes with the coconut and nuts in this recipe has been very "out" for lack of a better way to put it for a while now.

I like these cranberry shortbread bars. Pretty easy to make, and the tartness of the cranberries balances out the sweetness in other desserts: https://theviewfromgreatisland.com/minimal-monday-fresh-cranberry-bars/

I would 100% eat a cherry pie over pretty much anything other than an apple pie. And honestly? Don't give a shit that it's not a "traditional" Thanksgiving pie.

My grandmother used to can and it was always a treat to eat what she had put up, far better than anything from a store. Iโ€™ll bet your cherry pie will be the star of the show and your family is very fortunate to get to enjoy it.

Blasphemy! That's an early summer, not Thanksgiving, food.
Agree that fruit crisps are very easy. You could do apple cranberry if you wanted to be festive: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/41893/apple-cranberry-crisp/
Pecan pies are also pretty easy, especially if you don't make the crust yourself.

Not for us! It's always around for a winter holiday meal or two. I suppose because the red cherries and white whipping cream look so festive.
