Wow. The board is a snake pit. Rita was ganged up on.

Yeah, Rita is out there on her own...

Laura Stewart is supporting her amendment although I don't know that it means anything about the personal dynamics.

No, Rita voted against Karla's amendment.

Good grief. Taylor is literally telling Laura what she's allowed to do as a board member. This is why the BOE needs to be a full-time position. These people don't know the system and the system knows all of the ins and outs in ways that allow them to do whatever they want.

Taylor, Karla and Brenda set Rita and Laura up. They're trying to trip up Rita's amendment with a technicality and they had Karla slip hers in with SIMS and Sligo language.

Natalie Zimmerman is a traitor. She's aligning with the old guard and fighting against Rita.

Karla and Rita had a little catty moment:

Rita: I was just seeing the text of this amendment now.

Karla: It was sent to all board members before this meeting.

Superintendent Taylor has now cut the Board of Education to just one business a meeting a month and that cuts public comment spaces in half.

Taylor is making decisions outside of the mandated planning policy and that has been the topic of many of the public.

Karla's reminder of the process and pointing out that the decision about Crown won't be final until March was moot. The decisions today about including Wootton or Damascus in the CIP are being made today and that will impact Crown since Taylor announced the intention is to use Crown as a holding school for those rebuilds.

So based on Nora Walsh's comments, if MCPS decides to use Crown as a holding school, which it seems is legally NOT an option, is it likely to get challenged in court? And, if so, then what will happen?

Taylor and Yang LOVE litigation.

The SMOB was clearly given a script to read by Board staff with that line about the board being committed to transparency. Sad.
