Please don't send your kid to Bach week unless you are sure they are Well-Tempered and can Handel it. It's not all minuets and gigues. By the time they get home, they’ll be fugued up and mentally baroquen.

It's a nice event, but the food is pretty limp for all that you pay. Breakfast is just a bowl of Concertos, which is not enough if you've been drinking.

I went when I was a senior. I was in a fugue state the entire time.

Or worse. This is why I don't understand why any sane parent allows their kid to go to Bach week, at least not without an adult chaperone.

Does Bach Week conflict with Mostly Mozart? My kid doesn't want to choose.

You can get around this if at least one of the kids wears a large white powdered wig.

I believe Jeff glanced at the subject line and thought it was a duplicate of an existing beach week thread. I posted in the Website Feedback forum, explained to him and asked him to reopen this. And he did!

So now the thread is Bach.

Do schools still do this? My friend's district used to make a big thing out of Bach Week and the whole thing turns into a gaudy sh*tshow with kids talking about how much money their parents spent on their harpsichords.

(Anyway, appreciate the thread. I have happy memories of taking my teens to a performance of the B minor mass).

I don’t know if I want my DC consorting with anyone in Washington. I think that opens them up to a neverending series of concertos. Practically Bach-to-Bach.

Remember to buy yourself a ticket. The conductors will deny entry to any group that does not have at least one adult per group.
