Susquehanna is a below average school. Sorry.

Maybe they will get merit aid. Anyway, if people are happy there and have good outcomes whether careerwise or grad school, it must be doing something right. I'd be happy if my child went there.

Yep. One of our kids went there, got enough merit money to make it equal to in state tuition, earned two Bachelor’s degrees, studied abroad, and went to a top ranked graduate program. Her friends either went to law school, med school, or were employed right after graduation. Ours got into several higher ranked schools and chose Susquehanna and has no regrets.

People on here turn their noses up at schools that aren’t in the top tier.

It’s also generous with merit aid and most kids are not full pay. Lots of kids from VA who chose it, wanted to go out of state. It’s nothing like W&M or UMW.

Is it really nothing like UMW? Both have been suggested to my kid — we’ve only had a chance to look at UMW (which is in state), and DC loves it. Hoping to check out Susquehanna over spring break, but trying to figure out a reasonable number of schools in PA and a good route for them within the time limits we have. Should SU not make the cut?

Our kid loved it much more than UMW. It had more of a traditional campus feel and the physical campus is much larger. It’s a small school but since kids live on campus all four years it felt much more cohesive than our DD felt during the UMW tour. She also knew a lot of friends at UMW who went home on the weekends and the people she talked to at Susquehanna said most people only go home on breaks.

Look at Elizabethtown in PA. They really pay attention to each student. My kid was accepted and was contacted by two professors to talk things over. It’s not super fancy, and they kept the price down with merit aid.

Lol it’s neither. It’s a safety. It’s not that great of a school.

It would be a likely.

We visited and liked it. It had that quintessential LAC feeling. The town is small, but had a few cute cafes. The kids were super nice. The tenor of the conversations felt a little more academic than at some of the schools we looked at for my B+ kid.

I remember they had a few quirky majors. DS picked another school, but he got a nice package of aid from Susquehanna.

If your kid went there and had a car, they could visit friends at Bucknell, Penn State, etc.

It has a 79% acceptance rate. It's a safety school for a B+ student and 1350 SAT.

Likely and safety basically mean the same thing.

Well, she asked "target or likely." So I picked one.
