Stock up on food and anything else that has to do with a large storm.

I will continue to do so. Trump will destroy us.

I am finally about to donate the disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer to the animal shelter.

I don't think it really affected us.

We've gotten rid of a lot of stuff but we moved and it was a bit of a downsize, so we had to. It was a good opportunity to get rid of stuff. Feels good to be "lighter."

Lots happened in the family since 2020.

We are at an age where we want to downsize. Purging is required but from 2020 to 2025 - my life has been super hectic with new births, diseases, deaths, weddings, college, new jobs, retirements.... everything is at warp speed.

As for COVID induced- habits, it was not a stretch for us. We are Asians. We wash hands constantly, change clothes when we come home, no-shoes household, we cook from scratch, we are up to date with our vaccines and medical checkups, we eat a lot of veggies, we have a vegetable garden and we have hand held shower sprays attached to the toilet to wash ourselves. Our consumption of TP is very low.

We also entertain a lot. AND we are getting older.

Purge but I’m 51 so not unusual for my age.

Stockpiling and now their tariffs and all kinds of stuff plus we have job uncertainty. I hate all the stuff but feel like we have some cushion and some of the stuff is just cheaper in bulk.

I grew up with less and survived just fine.
I'm doing no-buy year for 2026, because I want to do it.
There were times when I did shop a lot and stocked up, but I was stressed about some family thing. All good now and my need for stocking up/shopping has disappeared.
If we do run out of things as a country, I will take it like a champ. I'll be the least affected as I know how to live on less.

Just keep extra TP on hand.

I stock up now but we also moved to a house with more storage so it was a natural ability.

I would not say we're hoarders or preppers at all. When we're fully stocked (maybe half the time) we have about 16 rolls of paper towels and 30 toilet papers, maybe 12 cases of drinks not including some pallets of water, medicine and tissues and toiletries 3x what we'd need for an illness that included everyone in the house, and food to last probably 6 weeks WITH the abilty to cook indoors.

I live in LA and know many people who lost their homes in the fires or have had everything contaminated in their surviving homes. It has made me rethink stockpiling and acquiring new items. I am using up my pandemic stockpile and not replenishing it.

Anonymous wrote:We learned to do more with less during Covid, so I’d say the permanent change is that there are far fewer things we stock up on now.

That's how we started but not where we ended up.

I'm hoarding. A bit ashamed to admit it though.

We are hoarding. Very ashamed. We haven't had anyone over in ages. Literally.

Same.
