Do we cry bc it’s our kid and their story? I cried the first time too. But not sure if others will be as moved

Mine compared the colors of his water bottle to the colors of his personality making an analogy of his own character’s evolution.

Kid 1: About the death of a grandparent.

Kid 2: About a sports injury.

Very original and different.

Visiting his grandparents in their country where he doesn't speak the language well but finding moments of connection - made me cry.

My kid wrote about volunteering at a program for kids with disabilities while struggling with and managing her own disability. It showed personal growth and her volunteering EC, which was important to her

Why she hates the letter B.

DC1 - wrote about having to “lead” a large group of peers and just how hard it is to provide meaningful/thoughtful criticism and to require real corrective actions (following up with consequences when not complete). IN where she wanted to go.

DC2 - wrote about how the “joking” personification of their instrument kept them sane during COVID and the not-so easy transition to HS. Interested in STEM so she wanted to show her creative/musical side too. IN already at two schools in her Top 3 while still waiting on the last.

They didn’t show us their work until after submitted. Loved and moved to emotion by both of them.

One of mine wrote this exact one. Other one wrote how he accidentally discovered serial killer documentaries (and his weekly routine when not working, heating up food, grabbing a blanket, etc) and how that inspired him to ask more questions when he met people to get to know them better and piqued his interest in human psychology. He got scholarship money--LOL.

My child wrote about their lifelong experience dealing with and often overcoming the oppression and bigotry directed at them as a nonbinary person growing up in Montgomery County.

I don't know- my kid wouldn't share it and didn't ask for our help (she had other people read it).

Mine wrote about an incident where they had questioned and asked to change a rule they thought was unjust.

My other one wrote about how a lesson (that seemed backwards at the time) a coach kept giving them, ended up helping them with their academics down the road

I’m realizing that I actually have no idea!!

But loved the troll response from parent claiming “I wrote”!!! Though a bit obvious.

My older one wrote about going to the movies. He got into a top 20. My younger one wrote about how she loves to do puzzles. Acceptances TBD.
