Are the time shares resorts though? I’m looking for a resort with restaurants and activities.

The marriot vacation club properties are sort of resort time shares. I really like a resort and they work for me. So taking the Poupu MVC as an example, they have a large pool and are right on the beach. They have a pool bar and cafe that sells stuff like burgers tacos etc during the day. They also have a small market that has some stuff like prepared coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches and danishes, etc. They have some activities like usually some crafts for kids, feeding fish at koi pond, etc. The one at Hilton Head has free bikes on property. The one at Aruba has a lazy river and you can rent or buy or bring tubes. The one in Aruba has a bunch of restaurants in close walking distance including a couple right on the beach and right off the marriot property. The units have separate bedrooms plus also a kitchen and living space so they are great for parents with kids so you can put them in their own room.

The MVC resorts do not have things like kids clubs or all the activities that you are going to find at a Sandals type place but the price is much lower. I don’t like condo rental type vacations — this is not that. It feels like a resort hotel. You can look online.

Another resort that is similar but not in the marriot chain is hacienda Del Mar in Cabo - I really like it but it’s not a swimmable beach so maybe not what you want. It has several restaurants on property, including one right on the beach and a pool bar. Multiple Great pools and just a beautiful property. They have a concierge that can set you up with activities like snorkel, horseback riding etc., if you want help doing that stuff, and the tour operators will pick you up at the property.

Personally, when I vacation I like to chill, not have every need attended to, so shy away from 5 stars even though I can afford it. Buy obviously don’t want to stay in a 3 star Hampton inn. So 4 stars is actually a good middle ground.

This is OP. I have not been commenting on stars, but the reason I said 4 star is because I’m looking fig something $1000 a night and under, and giver stars unfortunately are not there anymore. I’m looking for spring break.
