I think there is less grace given for first semester as it's assumed that kids would get the grades up by then. First quarter is viewed differently because a grade can often be based on 1-2 assignments.
So what is the standard? Maintaining the same average GPA as at the end of junior year? Or do they expect to see better performance than junior year?
