My daughter is an upperclassman (11/12) at NCS. She doesn’t party (trust me, I know) but there are many girls who do and go hard. There is something for everyone at NCS and she doesn’t feel pressured about it.

9th is the actual entry year, like any HS, but they accept transfers in 10th and 11th if there’s space. I don’t know about midyear. With their mod system, I would think midyear transfers would be particularly difficult, but you can always call and talk to them about it.

There is no such thing as a school full of identical kids. There is going to be a group of parties at every single school. And a group of non-parties. This is not rocket science. Or new. Or unique to this area.

Is 10th an entry year for Madeira? Do they accept transfers mid year for 9th?

All schools have drinking and partying and all schools don’t. You can’t avoid it. Your question is invalid OP.

After reading the SR thread you assume SR has a party culture? Give me a break! Every year around admission time you will see threads about NCS, Holton, SR, and Visi that may not be positive. Other parents don't want you to apply so it gives their daughter a better chance at getting in and people like you fall for it everytime! These schools are compenetive and have long waitlist every year. This is DC people, wake up.

NCS and Holton girls party plenty, trust me. As others have said, it's all about what "friend group" your daughter chooses coupled with her own moral compass. Parents needs to do their jobs and not just blame it on the school. Be clear about your expectations and boundaries, and implement consequences.

This but they will be married by 21.

True but they also won’t be posting TikTok videos of themselves crying in their cars about not being able to find a man

We’re transferring out of SR. Looking into NCS and Holton. We have friends at both, but wanted the religious aspect. Hoped that that “Catholic school girl” trope was just that but clearly not. Are you applying for 9th or 10th? We’re in 9th, hoping for a miracle in terms of spots. We’re full pay.
