Lol, please. The House has not met since mid-SEPTEMBER and yet we’re supposed to scurry back in on four hours’ notice? That’s unprofessional.

Your notice started Sunday night.

Look at what others endured basically to get the can kicked down the road and maybe or maybe not healthcare subsidies/access so you can get to work and get your money now.

Assume you have to, and if you discover you don't consider it a gift and get back in bed.

I’m sorry we’ve been working 40 days also without pay, taking any time off is jumping by furlough hoops and frowned upon my leadership. Having to wake up early one morning and then getting the day off is not a hardship — esp now that the question of withholding pay or RIF is off the table.

I have a clean conscience. Flame away, I don’t GAF. the new social contract of the DOGE era is pretty clear. I know I will have Trump favored industry breathing down my neck to get unfair prioritization and I have zero compunction about getting to work at 10:30am the first day after furlough.

Nobody is whinging. It’s called boundaries. I’m not doing a single thing to prepare in advance. On Thursday I will wake up, check email, then head in at an unhurried pace. This probably means getting in a bit late if the news doesn’t come out until late Weds, but I’m fine with that.

This.

Trump could sign in the early hours of Thursday and we will still be working that day. I think you have 4 hours to come in...though I assume if its signed at 11 am they might offer some options.

Good question. I was thinking Thursday but others I’ve spoken to think Friday.

He’ll probably sign it around 11:30 p.m.
