Yes 8 presents as long as I am able to. I haven't mentioned the holiday to avoid theological debate. It's HIS stated preference when we met and it's our tradition for his holiday.

We make plenty of charitable donations. The 8 aren't crowding us with stuff, its often clothing he needs to replace worn out stuff.

My brothers that age would like nice wine or whisky. Or some kind of food of the month club? Or is there a special food from his hometown you could order from goldbelly?

Does he have nice slippers? I like the LL Bean wicked good ones.

I got my dad one of those under table elliptical machines (you do it while sitting) and a number of different physical therapists have said how great it is for keeping circulation going and preventing neuropathy. If he used to run but now cannot, maybe something like that would help him stay in shape? Would he do something like a joint yoga class (good for mobility and balance as you age)?

I also agree with the idea of tickets to something. Physical stuff becomes sort of pointless at that age—people don’t need more stuff especially if they already have the new tech.

I’d do some experiences. Like an escape room, top golf, winery outing or whatever he’s into.

A friend of mine gave her husband a year's worth of experiences last Christmas and it's been a fun idea. It's a mix of things like shows or concerts with them doing touristy stuff for their area they otherwise wouldn't have done. It's a trip a month.
