I mean, they usually release it in September or October. So a student newspaper asking for it in November is a good question.

Do you think it’s meaningfully more conservative that a place like middlebury. Or a place like Michigan? I think their admin is willing w play along w Trump, which is nuts. But is the student body conservative?

You can't compare Dartmouth to Michigan or any other Big Ten school not named Northwestern. They are nothing alike in prestige, selectivity, social scene, etc.

Exactly. Dartmouth is a small school in the North Woods that gets their white students from basically eight exclusive private schools. Then they get some East and South Asians from public schools to get their academic creds up. Throw in some internationals. Add some athletes. Mix with some FGLI. And there's Dartmouth.

It doesn't compare with real universities like Michigan and Northwestern and the Big Ten. Valid point.

which eight?

I suspect it’s because they don’t love the numbers.

Either black/hispanic too low. Or Asian too high. Some 20% change from year prior

My assumption would be that’s why they are keeping the stats hidden.

I think they’re playing both sides. I suspect their URM numbers are poor. Trump and co would be happy w that (merit bs). But the now-annual NYT article of schools losing Black students isn’t an article schools want to be a part of

Not enough URM's score high enough on the SAT to fill its class...

I have a freshman in this class and I think it's quirkier and more liberal than classes before. My kid doesn't know any conservatives and he/she is in all political-related
extracurriculars and classes. There are a decent number of Asians and south Asians and what feels like very few URM outside of internationals from South and Central America.

I mean, she’s asking to compare only on one aspect: conservative make up of the study body. I’d say each example she gave is similar: has a sizable number of conservative students but is majority left. It’s more like those schools that the similarly selective Bowdoin say. And more like middlebury and MI - politically - then similarly sized Yale

Or it reached a high for that class. Like "too many" South Asians were admitted but they don't necessarily want more of them in future years (maybe they want to remain white)?Alum M Kaling donated $ for a theater or something. Did they bring in more S Asians after that donation?

Is this in support or in opposition to what her brother did: https://www.cnn.com/2015/04/07/living/feat-mindy-kaling-brother-affirmative-action
