Do you think it’s meaningfully more conservative that a place like middlebury. Or a place like Michigan? I think their admin is willing w play along w Trump, which is nuts. But is the student body conservative?
You can't compare Dartmouth to Michigan or any other Big Ten school not named Northwestern. They are nothing alike in prestige, selectivity, social scene, etc.
Exactly. Dartmouth is a small school in the North Woods that gets their white students from basically eight exclusive private schools. Then they get some East and South Asians from public schools to get their academic creds up. Throw in some internationals. Add some athletes. Mix with some FGLI. And there's Dartmouth.
It doesn't compare with real universities like Michigan and Northwestern and the Big Ten. Valid point.

Anonymous wrote:Which ever PP mentioned the Trump thing is correct. The school is trying very hard to stay under the radar and coast on its reputation as a “conservative” ivy to avoid $60 million settlements, etc. I think the new president is managing this ridiculous climate very well and doing a good job of keeping the school from being targeted. My assumption would be that’s why they are keeping the stats hidden.

Or it reached a high for that class. Like "too many" South Asians were admitted but they don't necessarily want more of them in future years (maybe they want to remain white)?Alum M Kaling donated $ for a theater or something. Did they bring in more S Asians after that donation?
